Meet Our TED Talk Speakers!
Katey McPherson, Director of Community Partnerships - Bark Technologies, Inc.
Katey brings experience in school leadership, prevention, and organizational change with 25 years as a secondary school teacher, guidance counselor, and K-12 school administrator.
Katey has worked diligently on several youth mental health initiatives and has assisted in passing 3 key pieces of suicide prevention and school safety legislation. Katey delivers professional development to learning communities with a focus on creating adaptive coping skills and resiliency and regularly speaks to students to increase their awareness and education in digital citizenship/social media responsibility.
Katey currently serves as the Director of Community Partnerships for Bark Technologies, Inc., an artificial intelligence app that protects over 7 million children while they play and learn online.
Aaron Baughman, AI Strategist - Michigan Virtual
Aaron serves as an AI Strategist on loan from Northville Public Schools, bringing years of experience as a district leader dedicated to enhancing education through innovation. With a focus on using artificial intelligence to empower teachers, improve learning experiences for students, and support the uniquely human aspects of teaching, Aaron is passionate about preparing schools for the future. As the former Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services for Northville Schools, Aaron has led initiatives to improve instructional practices, ensure academic excellence, and integrate emerging technologies in classrooms.
In addition to his professional expertise, Aaron is a proud husband and father, deeply invested in supporting both educators and families in creating meaningful learning opportunities for all students.
Kerry Biskelonis, LPC, RYT, Founder & Clinical Director - Reset Brain and Body
Primarily, Kerry Biskelonis is a mom on a mission to live in a less hateful world. Stemming from her own experiences in corporate business and witnessing the profound stressors people are under, Kerry started Reset Brain and Body in 2015. At Reset, Kerry’s clinical work is grounded in the integrative methods of somatic therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, yoga therapy, and trauma-informed practices helping to make people more mindful and kind to themselves. Kerry believes that with a well-rounded framework of support, people can establish a more conscious lifestyle that ultimately benefits the entire world. Kerry excels in working with parents who balance high expectations for themselves with their own needs for self-care and sustainability, as well as all Type A identifying clients looking to level up their confidence and self-trust to overcome their needs to control, plan and please.
As a whole, Reset Brain and Body offers clients a bold, creative, and experiential approach, unlike traditional mental health care. Rooted in holistic and research-supported methods, every team member at Reset approaches their work with clients with a wide, inclusive lens to best serve the unique needs of clients. Three Pathways: Tuition-Free Community College in Michigan - Room 153

Michigan now offers three programs for students to earn up to 60 college credits tuition-free. In addition, the statewide Michigan Transfer Agreement guarantees the transfer of those credits to four-year universities. In this workshop, you will learn how to apply to these programs, including specific program requirements. All students, including academically accelerated students and students with disabilities, may apply to these programs.

As a special education teacher, I have seen the impact and power of peer mentorship/inclusion for both neurotypical and neurodivergent kids, and I am excited to teach and help shape future generations to grow up and be inclusive of people with all different ability levels.
