Night For Northville has been canceled
Dear Friends,

After considering last night’s recommendations from the Governor regarding avoidance of non-essential events/gatherings of more than 100 people and seeking the best available facts and data concerning the COVID-19 virus, including conversations with the a member of the national response team, an infectious disease specialist at the University of Michigan and other medical professionals, our Board of Directors has decided it is in the best interests of our supporters and community that we cancel Saturday's Night for Northville Event.

It was a difficult decision. There is nothing we would like more than to gather in celebration and support of our school children and school district with all of you on Saturday. We understand that there are many of you who would wish for us to go ahead with the Night for Northville, despite the concerns around COVID-19. However, understanding how easily the virus spreads, its long incubation and contagious state, and considering the fact that many in our community travel and do business nationally and internationally, we can not, in good conscience risk the safety and health of any one of you.

We wholeheartedly extend our thanks to all of our wonderful and generous supporters. We are grateful for all of the hard work our committee has put into planning. A special thanks for the generosity of our sponsors, auction donors and for the support of ticket holders like you. With all of your support, this year's event was anticipated to be a tremendous success. Unfortunately, the great uncertainty makes it impossible to reschedule this year's event. We do look forward to continuing the Night for Northville tradition next year and hope you will join us then.

We wish to inform you of your options as a ticket holder. There are a number of fixed costs that the Northville Educational Foundation has already incurred for the event, and the absence of this event will certainly leave a hole in our budget for this fiscal year.

We would appreciate you considering letting your ticket purchase serve as a tax-deductible donation to the Educational Foundation. We are grateful for your support. We hope, even in cancellation, that this event can provide a lift to our budget that goes toward funding for a tremendous number of programs district-wide. If you are willing to give this donation, no further action needs to be taken on your part and we will provide you with a receipt during the month of April.

If you choose not to use your ticket price as a donation, and instead would like a refund, please send an email to [email protected] prior to March 30 and we will process your refund.

You may have seen or heard about some of the amazing auction items donated to our event. We are making them available on-line for your bidding pleasure. Please go to www.SupportNEF.org for more information.

If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected] As always, we are grateful for your support of the Northville Educational Foundation. Thank you for your understanding and please, stay healthy!

Sincerely,
George Fekaris
President
